Frostpipe ceased to transport hydrocarbons in March 2001, after the Frøy and Lille Frigg fields ceased production in 2001 and 1999, respectively. In 2009, Total (now TotalEnergies) submitted the Frostpipe disposal plan and recommended leaving the pipeline in place and trenching it, with rock dumping in places. We assume this work was completed between 2010 and 2014 at a cost of NKr 160 million. The Frostpipe was constructed to transport oil and condensate from the Lille Frigg and Frøy fields to the Oseberg field. From Oseberg liquids were exported onwards via the Oseberg Transportation System to the Sture terminal.
