State-owned SOCAR currently operates the onshore Muradkhanli Contract Area, which contains three core oil fields: Muradkhanli, Jafarly and Zardab. In 2020, London-listed Zenith Energy exited a production rehabilitation and exploration PSC that was signed in 2016.All the fields were discovered during the Soviet era, and Muradkhanli and Jafarly are mature.
