Report summary
The ADNOC Onshore contract area covers Abu Dhabi's onshore and near-shore regions. It is the largest oil concession with foreign participants in the Middle East by production. It includes 12 producing fields, many of which are supergiant. The fields are located primarily in the southwest of Abu Dhabi and produce from Cretaceous carbonate reservoirs. Production began in 1963 and reached a record annualised level of 2.02 million b/d in 2024. The historical ADCO concession expired in 2014, and a new concession was awarded in 2015, with production capacity at around 1.5 million b/d at that time. The long-term production target is a sustained 2.45 million b/d, supporting ADNOC's broader objective of increasing oil production capacity to 5 million b/d under Project 5.0 (P5). Major expansion projects are currently underway across the entire concession area to support this target, with investment currently at record levels.
